So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
How many people in the Bible needed breakthroughs in their lives? When Moses was looking at the Egyptian army racing towards them and they had nowhere to go, God did not give him a spirit of fear. Looking at the natural aspect of his circumstance he could have elected to be dismayed but grabbing to the hope of God's strength he did not focus on the drowning thunder of the chariots. He did not focus on the cries of the Israelites who were terrified.
Instead, the spirit of the Lord came upon Moses to give him strength and he told his people: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:13-14
So likewise, today you need a breakthrough. The forces are arrayed against you. You are waiting for the Lord to make a way out to the sea. Grab on to the truth of his promises that are always yes and amen. He will strengthen you, even in your bed of sickness, even in your state of lack or depravity. The weak will say "I am strong" and the oppressor has no hope in prospering his evil desires on us.
Now is His hour to shine upon you. Today is His day to uphold you with His mighty righteous hand. For He is God, the great "I am", the one who has great thoughts for you, thoughts for you to prosper, not plots of evil but thoughts to give you a future and hope.
