John 15:10
(Jesus said) "If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love."
These are the words of Jesus, yet they almost sound unbiblical! These words could lead you to think that God's love is conditional.
But when you meditate on this verse, you begin to see the point. God's love for us endures through all generations. It is an eternal love that can never be extinguished. His love and grace has no condition. Therefore, it is up to us to receive it.
The problem is that we get too busy trying to out do God. We think we can love ourselves better than he can love us. When we are stricken with fear, we don't run to him to receive love and shelter, instead we try to protect ourselves.
The greatest form of worship to God is our offering of obedience. I don't say this to set us off on a course of legalism but we need to really capture the truth that disobedience is a blessing blocker. Obedience is the key to unlocking the windows of Heaven so that a blessing can be poured into your life.
The verse today is a wonderful promise. If you obey the Lord's commands, legions of angels will be there to guard the gates of provision in your life. The opposite is also true, demons are waiting for YOU to grant them permission to shut the gates and harass every shipment of blessing and grace that is continually heading in your direction..
The choice is yours and spoken through your actions.
