By His power, WE can do all things.

Hebrews 11:1
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

I had to laugh when I saw this verse today. Why? Because I've been telling myself this for the last few weeks. When I think of our current situation I look up and I say, "thank you God for I know you are working all things together for good and I'm not relying on the things I see as evidence but I'm fully relying on the things I do not see for I know you are my Jehovah Jireh, my provider!"

I say this several times a day as a reminder of what faith is all about. We know this, but we step back sometimes and try to really figure out how God is working all things together for good. Perhaps we get impatient and we want to offer our help.

We saw Evan Almighty last night and Morgan Freeman who plays God said something very insightful to Joan (Evan's wife): "if you ask God for courage, do you think God will just zap you with it? No, he will give you a reason to be courageous."

Think about it! What are you lacking right now that you have asked God to give you? You've asked for strength and your probably wondering why you have so much weight on your shoulders. You've asked for patience and your probably wondering why you have so many issues cropping up. You've asked for prosperity and you are wondering why the bills keep coming. You've asked for righteousness and temptations continue their torment.

It would be nice to have Jesus in flesh to come tell us to go to the lake and catch a fish that has a coin in its mouth to pay all our taxes. Or he could spit on the ground and rub some of that mud on your eyes and all the sudden you see visions that resolve all your problems. But he ascended so that the "comforter" could come to help us.

Maybe the point we are missing is that God is not going to waive his magic wand. He has given US the power. Maybe we need to start believing that by His power, WE can do all things.
