I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.
A friend of mine sent me an email about how our atmosphere is perfectly balanced. How if we have one more percent of oxygen or if the moon was slightly smaller or changed orbit in the slightest, our world would just completely burn up. If you think about it, in the vastness of space, our habitat is an incredible anomaly.
In other words, God preserves our lives with all his precepts as the verse says. There are so many ways for us to perish, both naturally and spiritualy but he continues to give us strength every day to do his will and live for his purpose.
I love this quote by President Abraham Lincoln:
"I can see how it might be possible for someone to look around on earth and not believe in God, but I cannot conceive how anyone could look up into the heavens and say there is no God."
I think that's why God went through so much trouble to put such an expansive universe for us to discover. When we study the intricate balance between stars, planets, galaxies, moons, etc. we have to think of Him. Its a way for us not forget his precepts. A way to help us understand just how perishable we really are and how he preserves us in a balance that is so precise, only God can maintain it.
