Driven by His word.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Spoken by Jesus.)

Take a personal inventory of all the things in your life. Now what do you see? Look at the things of utmost importance to you.

Most of these things will pass away. To date, I have not yet seen a u-Haul being pulled by a hearse! The fact is that many of the things we hold dear to our hearts are temporary. We are often like a man trying to grasp the wind.

So how tangible are HIS words? His word spoke the universe into existance (let there be light). His word declared victory on the cross (it is finished). And His word does not condem us (I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned)

We should ask ourselves everyday, are we driven by the things that will pass away or are we driven by His word?

Life and time are also teaching me what is most important. As I mature in the Lord I find time with my parents, my brother and his kids to be of greater value than ever before. I must show up and participate to receive the true value and be willing to share myself to enrich them also.

Good word. It's interesting how our perspective starts to change. It reveals that most about this world is upside down. Think of Christmas for example; how far out of whack have we been tossed when it comes to the true meaning of the season?
