The enemy has no chance.

Titus 2:2
Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.

In the book I am currently reading, the Screwtape Letters, uncle Screwtape is teaching his young nephew who just began his career as a demon. He is talking about "patients" that are of the "despondent type" or people who are prone to be tempted to despair. Listen to what he says:

"You have only got to keep him out of the way of experienced Christians (an easy task now-adays), to direct his attention to the appropriate passages in scripture, and then to set him to work on the desperate design of recovering his old feelings by sheer will power, and the game is ours."

This is why today's verse is so important for us. If you are an "experienced Christian" then seek an inexperienced one and teach them. If you are inexperienced, then seek an experienced Christian you can learn from.

When we become temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in our faith, in love with Christ, and have endurance in Him, uncle Screwtape and the enemy has no chance!
