Watch your mouth!

1 Samuel 16:7
The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

We live in a world that's all about outward appearances. Teenage girls become obsessed with their weight, middle aged men desire the red sports cars and Botox is a multi billion dollar business. These are just a few examples of how the world is in opposition to the reality of the Kingdom of God.

Jesus said, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Think about that for a minute. Want to know what God sees in you? Just listen to yourself. Read some emails you've sent out in the past year.

I remember a conflict management class I took where they video taped us doing some scenarios of delivering bad news. It was a good learning experience watching yourself talk to someone else. It helped understanding that what seem to be perfectly normal to me, came across as somewhat arrogant when I viewed the tape.

So what comes out of your mouth is a good thermometer of what is in your heart and what God sees!

I am working on what I say as that I saw my Heart today! Work still needs to be done!
