A great reason to rejoice!

Psalm 119:14
I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.

This verse makes me think of the countless people who turn out worse off after winning the lottery. They come to great riches yet they fail to recognize the responsibility behind it and soon find themselves completely bankrupt.

We know that God's grace is unending and that our salvation is secured when believe in Jesus in our hearts and confess that he is our Lord. But once we receive such saving gift what do we do with the riches in glory?

If we have a get-out-of-jail card attitude then our spiritual bank dwindles and we would soon be bankrupt just like many lottery winners. But as we follow his ways, and we have a zeal for his righteousness, our joy will surpass any natural riches which are temporary and we will be continually filled with the glory of God which is a great reason to rejoice!

With money comes great responsiblty, as with anything really. I think that is why we fail so often in our pursuits. We must mature in our walk with God and with others, shore up (make strong) the weak and feeble parts! The Grace if God allows this to happen as we work on the weaknesses and he reveals them to us. The key is to not hide from them when they are exposed but to embrace them as that any weakness came be turned into a strength in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hope you flu is on the mend!
