Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
This verse is part of a great chapter which Isaiah talks about a life of abundance. It is evidence that people in the old testament could gain salvation through his grace.
At that point, they didn't have the luxury of the son of God killed for their sins. But they did have God favor and grace.
Today, even though we have salvation through Jesus, we can still thirst for God. This verse let's us know that while God is near, we need to seek for the Lord.
It makes me think that perhaps at some point it time, God may not be near?
